 Tony Barros heads the Real Estate Development, Acquisitions, Finance and Leasing practice at Sullivan & Barros, LLP. Tony has closed billions of dollars in commercial real estate transactions for clients over the past 16 years. He advises developers, property owners, borrowers, landlords and tenants in the acquisition, development, financing, and leasing of commercial and residential real estate projects that range from millions to hundreds of millions of dollars in scale. He also represents lenders and investors in workouts and restructurings of debt and equity transactions and enforcement of remedies.
His extensive real estate transactional experience includes creating residential condominiums, such as expandable residential condominiums, and mixed-use condominiums under a master condominium structure, as well as structuring and negotiating public/private partnership transactions with municipalities and municipal affairs. Tony routinely represents clients before neighborhood stakeholder groups, and the legislative and executive branches of municipal governments.
Outside of his practice of commercial real estate law, Tony has developed over 200 condominium units, underground parking facilities, and 30,000 SF of neighborhood retail space occupied by numerous national and regional credit tenants. In the Washington Business Journal’s 1998 “Best Real Estate Deals, one of Tony’s development projects won in the category of “Best Community Impact.”
Through his development experiences and his years of practicing law, Tony is able to provide superior legal counsel to his clients. He was with the DC offices of Ginsburg, Feldman & Bress, PC, Wilkes Artis, and Holland & Knight for 8 years before practicing as a solo practitioner for 8 years before joining Sullivan & Barros, LLP. Tony is a former Board member of the DC Board of Real Property Assessments & Appeals.
